Yellow Door Counselling is owned and operated by Irena Razanas, a social worker, whose experience and qualifications enable her to address a wide range of personal concerns.

As a play therapist, Irena believes in the healing power of play for both adults and children. Most adult clients prefer to talk through their issues, but Irena offers the option of using activity based counselling to help them better process their experiences.

Professional Development

  • Trained in Sandtray Worldplay therapy, a transformational journey where the client uses wet or dry sand, miniature objects, candles and the space of a sand tray to build a scene that gives expression to their internal and external worlds. Sandtray play increases the ability to express oneself without having to depend on words. This process can enhance self-awareness, communication and relationship with self and others.

  • Extensive training in various play therapy approaches for adults, parents and children including Theraplay

  • Trained in primary interventions and supportive therapy for those impacted by: serious illness, grief and loss, suicide, trauma, compassion fatigue, violence, divorce, separation, and adoption.
